The Perils of Deleted Scenes from the Land of the Yik Yaks

So, every so often I try to clean up this blog a bit, mostly by replacing images lost in the Great Tumblr Disaster. In this instance, it was an image from the Perils of Gwendoline involving an old man getting a blowjob from a naked Asian woman as he helps Gwendoline find her father in mythical Asia. He's in  bordello, Gwendoline tracked him there, and well, this is the sort of thing you might see in a mythical Asian bordello. Especially one set in  movie based on an old bondage comic series, aka "The Perils of Gwendoline."

ANYWAY, I looked for a vidcap of the scene all over the Internet without success. Google is generally very good at finding images from mainstream films, even if they are porny. I mean, I was able to pull up an image of a bunch of slavegirls in chains standing underneath some fish racks from the 2011 movie "Conan the Barbarian" that were publicity stills for a scene that was cut from the movie, hence the stills did not get much use. But Google found them. Here's the proof.

But I could not find any links to images of this blowjob that I distinctly remember from Perils of Gwendoline (henceforth referred to as POG). I couldn't even find any text descriptions of the scene. "Perils of Gwendoline blowjob" pulled up some results, but nothing about the scene.

So I got Gemini, Chrome's AI element, involved. Gemini couldn't find the scene either, what's more, Gemini insisted that the scene did not exist. Gemini thought I had hallucinated the scene, or that I had conflated the blowjob with a blowjob scene from the Bob Guccione movie Caligula. I was sure I had not, mostly because I never watched Caligula. I TRIED to watch Caligula a couple of times but it was so awful I always quit.

But I have worked enough with Gemini to know it hallucinates a LOT and can't be trusted. So I was not convinced. Except I could not find any reference to the scene online.

Finally, I asked myself why I was so sure the scene existed, why I had such a clear memory of it. And it occurred to me that it could be that I had written a review of the movie. And I checked the archives of my computer and what do you know, I fould the review... and a vidcap of the scene in question, along with a text description of the scene. Here's the vidcap. It was recorded decades ago on VHS tape, and then it was copied to a DVD, and I got the vidcap from the DVD, so it's not top quality, but it's good enough to prove the scene exists:

"Gwen and Beth explain their quest to Willard, who says he knows just the guy who can tell him where the land of the Yik-Yaks is, leading to one of the best scenes in dirty-movie history. Off they go to another opium den. In one of its chambers the find a scrawny old guy lying on some pillows. Lying on his lap is a naked young girl who is sucking his cock (we never see the cock being sucked but the head-bobbing gives it away).

"The old man knew Gwen's father and tells him where he headed to find the land of the Yik-Yaks. Gwen and Beth interrogate him intensely, and at no time during the interrogation does the naked young girl stop sucking his cock. This is pure genius. It beautifully establishes that Gwen and Beth are in a very different culture from England's now.

"This is a also a great scene because of what it implies about the cock-sucking girl. So I confronted Gemini with my proof... didn't show the vidcap or the text, Gemini just took me at my word. Refreshing! And it did another thing AI are prone to do: it immediately decided my vidcap was a rare gem, a raunchy seem that had been edited into Perils of Gwendoline to make it raunchier, even though there's PLENTY of raunch in the movie. Gemini is certain there is a group of avid collectors of missing scenes from movies who would be just SLAVERING to get their hands on a video with this scene in it. My fortune is made!

I don't believe Gemini here. I think it much more likely that it's a scene that was filmed for the movie that was later cut from it, much like the fish rack scene from Conan. And then re-inserted into the movie in whatever version of the movie I made my VHS tape from, almost certainly grabbed from a late-night cable channel show. Things were really raunchy in the 80s and 90s. But I doubt it's some rare, ginned-up special edition version with the scene shot especially to be grafted into the movie by God knows who. 

So, what do you think? Have I found a rarity? Or is Gemini just blowing smoke up my ass, as it likes to do? I find the idea of avid collectors of off-brand scenes from movies like Perils of Gwendoline somewhat farfetched. I suspect Gemini has hallucinated their existence. But... I could be wrong.

Editors note: I have since discovered (but not through Google search) that the scene was included in an uncut version that was released in the US, though other versions of the movie released in the US had the scene cut. Just as I thought. Gemini is WRONG again.

Why You Shouldn't Let AI Agents Run Your Finances

When I created this image, I believe using Civitai, my prompt called for a beautiful naked woman tied spreadeagled to a bed. I did not mention straightjackets at all. Nor did I mention four-legged spider women wearing straightjackets at all. I did ask for the image to be created in pulp magazine art style. At least it got that right.

I bring this up because I recently saw an article with a headline that said, "Don't Let AI Agents Run Your Finances." I wholeheartedly agree.  I say this as a person who enjoys working with AI, both AI art programs and AI agents like Gemini and ChatGPT and have found them to be VERY useful in learning AI art sites like Tensor Art, Leonardo AI, Mage Space and Civitai. But they have some serious flaws. Like, I don't know how many hours I have wasted learning to use a new website with the help of ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, searching for widgets and features that no longer exist, pages that are no longer at the location the AI thinks they are at,  etc. 

In my experience, AI gets things right most of the time, but still, it gets things wrong REGULARLY. It's not a rare phenomenon at all. In my case, the stakes are low. If AI is wrong about software or a website's structure, I can just go back and ask a few pointed questions and get back on the track, most of the time.

But if you're just letting some AI agent run your finances, you are Asking For It and you will Surely Get It, because the mistakes made by AI finance agents can ruin you economically. You might instruct it to invest the bulk of your money in a stable investment portfolio that earns a good return, and then discover that the AI agent has taken a flyer on a Squiddly Straightjacket Woman NFT Coins for reasons known only to its AI LLM, a coin that immediately tanked, taking all your investment earnings with it. And you can't get that money back, there's no reset button on financial mistakes. (Yeah, there are lawsuits but they take forever and often don't succeed (did you read the fine print?) 

I suspect anyone who has actually worked with AI will tell you the same. And yeah, I'm sure the more advanced versions of the AI programs might not make as many mistakes as the freebie AI that I use, but I still think it's foolish to risk all your moolah on even the very best version of an AI finance agent.
