Promo Ads for the Prison Bitch Trilogy: Civitai AI Art for the win!

 Some of my fave promo ads dring the Smashwords Summer Sale in July:

     Love the totally fucked-out expression on the woman's face. You can almost hear her gasping  for air in the aftermath of orgasm. So I went with it in my headline.

The caption really made this one for me. Hopefully would attract sub readers.

One of the most wholesome, if not the most wholesome, images in my campaign. But the text, whole different story. "Polish your pearl on a beautiful summer day" is probably just a little on the nose for some people, but I never got a bit of pushback on it. Works for me!

This promo, however, got me banned from Facebook for a month. I thought it was safe, but if you look real close at the woman's crotch (and clearly, someone did) you can see what appears to be the outer edges of her outer labia outside the chastity belt she wears. I didn't look that closely before I posted. My mistake. I had figured a chastity belt would cover up all the pussy, but I forgot that AI art does not necessarily follow the rules of human anatomy strictly. And believe me, I have many NSFL images that demonstrate that all too grossly. My mistake.

Civitai allowed me to create some really beautiful AI imagery along with all the abominations. It really made the promos work!

Smoker: The Hallucigenia of Early Porn Films

I don’t really know a LOT about porn from the 1970s and early 1980s, but I do know one thing about them: some of them were weird, deeply weird, in all sorts of unexpected and sometimes wonderful ways. Just like the animals of the Cambrian explosion.

And Smoker is just such a film. It has a plot, and dialogue. A ridiculous plot and some pretty good dialogue that led to one unexpected great scene in the film that almost every reviewer missed.

OK, here’s the ridiculous plot: The parts needed to build a device that can blow up the world (yes, the entire world) have been implanted in a bunch of working vibrators and sold to innocent customers. The bad guys, are led by Sharon Mitchell (who can actually act) as Madame Suque. Suquie is after the world-ending vibrators so her two henchmen (Ron Jeremy and Eric Edwards) are running around kidnapping the women who have unwittingly bought the vibrators and tying them up and fucking them to get the locations of said vibrators out of them.

Well I SAID the plot was ridiculous.

One of the women captured is Angie, played by Troye Lane. Troye is an unhappy captive, her expression and attitude expressing mostly indifference and dull anger which is carried on throughout her big sex scene, which is an amazing scene, actually. It’s the reason I decided to write this review. Here’s a vidcap of the scene:

Poor Angie. Naked, tied up, and sucking on Ron Jeremy's cock while Eric Edwards fucks her pussy and Sharon Mitchell soliloquizes. 

The reason the scene is so good is that as Madam Suque’s henchmen are raping Angie head and tail at the same time, Madam Suque delivers a strange little soliloquy. To wit:

Lady Suque: In the end it is good not to care at all. But I can't help it, I get caught up in caring.

Henchman: What do you care about, boss?

Lady Suque: I care about power. I want my power to run though myself alone. I can't wield my power effectively through others. It's limited to me, my own control over my own actions. I find myself powerless. I can hate as much as I want, or want something as much as I like, but all this humanity gets in the way. You know, I actually feel completely and effectively trapped.

Angie: Mmmph!

Lady Suque: Poor dear. You feel the same way, too, don't you??

Actually, there’s more, but that sets the tone for you. And while it’s not the greatest soliloquy since Shakespeare, it’s so far ahead of most porn movie dialogue it might as well be. What makes it especially effective is poor hapless Angie hanging in the ropes and being fucked in the mouth and pussy and being unable to move. Mitchell plays her role as almost a comic book villian, speaking almost all of her lines archly. Think kinky Cruella DeVille. It works strangely well for the soliloquy, her archness contrasting sharply with Angie’s stubborn anger despite her helplessness.

I’ll put a link down below so you can watch Smoker on your own and decide for yourself if I’m right about the scene. The soliloquy starts at the twenty minute mark, though there is a lot of sexual bondage with Angie prior to it, and some more nice dialogue from Sharon.

The writing and directing credits are given to Veronika Rocket, a female director in the early days of porn. I don’t know if the scene was a happy accident or an intentional success. I would like to think it was an intentional success, and given how powerful it turned out to be, I hope it was. But many scenes argue otherwise.

However, Veronika Rocket knew EXACTLY what she was doing when she wrote that soliloquy, and I suspect she knew what she was doing when she directed that scene with Angie suffering helplessly as Madame Suque spoke.

However, the rest of the movie has flaws, serious flaws, even by porn standards. The worst flaw is that much of the movie is seriously underlit. Some of the scenes are almost entirely dark. The worst example is an earlier scene in Angie’s bondage rape, where she’s tied standing up in the doorframe and is being DPed by Jeremy and Edwards. Early on they shift the camera POV to on the floor looking up from between everyone’s legs so everyone can get a good view of Tabs A and B going into and out of Slots C and D. The lighting is so bad that many of the frames are pitch dark, many other are just pink blobs in the darkness. I don’t think there is a single scene where you can see both cocks going in and out of both holes. One or the other is always in shadow.

The best lit vidcap I could get of this scene. I didn't make any vidcaps of the worst lit scenes because you can get the same effect by imagining a black square. I kid you not.

If there were a video on how not to shoot a DP scene, this movie’s scene would DEFINITELY serve as an example.

There are other issues, too, but let’s talk now about Hallucigenia. Hallucigenia is an animal found in the Burgess Shales that dates back to the Cambrian explosion. Here’s an artist’s reconstruction of it:

You have to admit, it’s one of the weirdest things to ever crawl on the ocean bottom and suck mud, and that’s saying something in a world where creatures like this exist:

The Cambrian explosion ran from 541 to 485 BCE, and was characterized by a huge burst of evolutionary diversity, as all of the major kinds of animals that now exist evolved. And in the process, many species that are absolutely weird evolved, as there were a lot of new ecological niches to exploit with no competition yet. Hence, Hallucigenia and quite a few other animals that make even paleontologists go, “Bwuh?” The sharp evolutionary competition that allows only the most efficient animals to survive did not yet exist.

And I think Hallucigenia is linked to Smoker in that Smoker also came into a time when porn had made a leap to a new cultural niche. The home videotape machine brought porn into every household. Every guy who wanted to watch porn could do so, easily, with the purchase of a VCR and a videotape. Or later, the rental of a videotape. Porn suddenly had a huge new market to exploit, and no one was sure what form of porn would work best for that market.

That’s why we had a lot of porn films that were kind of like real movies. That had plots and dialogue over and above, “Wanna fuck?” Yeah!” boomchickawowow.

And I think Smoker was one such film, if only in the mind of Veronika Rocket. It never caught on, but it had something to it. What if that dialogue had been noticed, and emulated in BDSM videos? Could have been a whole different world.

Leonardo AI can be such a damned tease. I ran this pretty good Second Life avatar through it:

The Leonardo avatar I got was just gorgeous. But I guess that tiny little microthong on the Second Life avatar defeated Leonardo and it screwed up the image. It ended the thong somewhere on the avatar's happy trail rather than over it's pussy. (Leonardo did get one image right: it put the tiny microthong where it belonged, half-buried in the Leonardo image's pussy.  But even then, Smashwords is allergic to pussies. No tiniest vaguest bit of what might be a vagina can appear on a Smashwords cover. I've been dinged for it before. No visible genitalia, even for hardcore taboo erotica.

So I went with the Leonardo AI that had the best other features, which was the one above. Its interpretation of the pasties on the SL avatar was brilliant. The image had the sleek, tanned blonde look of a beach party girl. So  I tried to make the thong work. But it was incredibly difficult because I went at it in the stupidest possible way. (I blame GIMP!) I wanted to just widen and extend the thong bottom so that it just barely covered the entire vagina instead of ending somewhere in the woman's happy trail region, leaving her pussy, such as it was, exposed.

All I really needed to do was cut and paste some pieces of the existing thong to get the shape I needed to pass Smashwords muster. That proved problematical however. The problem was that the bottom of the image's crotch was wide and distant from the top of the thong, and needed a lot of stretching and reshaping to reach where it needed to, and it had to follow natural lines from the top of the thong. The basic problem was my conception of the thong was all wrong, so I kept creating weirdly shaped thongs.

I finally decided my problem was the piece-by-piece approach, so I used GIMP's Cage Transform tool to create a thong that covered what it needed to. It seemed so plausible: you drew a cage outlining the object you want to change, with points set along the lines of the cage. When you grab a point and move it, the image changes to conform to the new outline of the cage. It seems like just the thing to create a thong that covered what it needed to.

This proved to be wrong. I created a layer that was just the thong itself, pasted it into a layer above the base image, and attempted to adjust the thong's dimensions. I had imagined moving the cage would keep the shapes being moved the same, and that the distance I moved the cage element would determine how much the image distorted. This turned out not to be true. Using the cage tool was very much like using the smudge tool. The smudge tool is a tool that will be very familiar to pastelists (people who create art with pastel sticks, not people who paste lists). It allows you to mix colors together by smudging them together with the tool, much as a pastel or charcoal artist smudges their chalk with his finger to mix it with nearby chalks. It's  great tool, I use it often.

But what I got when I used the cage tool was a smudged, lumpy outline of the thong instead of the smooth-edged garment. And because the amount of distance the thong distorted did not match the amount of distance the cage points were dragged, it was verr hard to get the thong parts moved to where they needed to be. And of course when the cage points were dragged, the edges of the image were smudged as well as moved. So instead of an enlarged, differently-shaped thong I got a fuzzy, blobby approximation of the thong. After some obvious failures, I dumped the cage transform tool.

But a good thing did come out of it. One of the fuzzy thong outlines I got from the cage transform tool was shaped like a breech cloth instead of a thong. It looked like it was hanging loose between her legs instead of tucked between them. And I realized that that was a lot easier to build using cut and past, so I did that. And it looked even sexier than a thong that covered her entire pussy area, because it looked like it was hanging loose which meant her pussy was just hanging out there behind the breech cloth. The slightest breeze might flip the cloth aside revealing her pussy. Much sexier.

If you want an example of the way the smudge tool works when you've got the right task for it, notice that the image I worked with has transformed the ballgag in the Second Life Avatar's mouth into mouth hooks, or something like them. But the image on the cover wears a ballgag. What happened there was that one of the Leonardo AIs came out with a pretty good ballgag so I lopped off her head and shoulders and transplanted them to the one I used. I pasted the head into a layer over the base and fiddled with the color values and then merged it down with the other layer. There was a faint line where the shoulders were on top of the base because the colors did not exactly match. But I just took the smudge tool and mixed those colors together and now you absolutely cannot tell that the head on the cover is a transplant. No one would have ever known if I had not told everyone right here on this post. Handy thing, that smudge tool.

 But what about the fully dressed Kim Halstead?

My initial plan for finance banker Kim was to pick up an image from Deposit Photos. I knew they had tons of images of women in business suits, and tons of women with sexy bodies. So it seemed likely that they would have images of women with sexy bodies in business suits. I mean, c'mon.

Turns out I was wrong. There is a great gulf fixed between the bodies of women in business attire and women in bikinis, underwear or nothing. Sexy women often have curvy bodies. Business women are almost all thin and not curvy. Actually, among the ones I checked, "almost" is not required: none of them were curvy.

So I went back to Leonardo AI and did a text prompt to get the image above. It was easy, almost ridiculously so. The woman was clothed and not having sex and not doing anything  that could be interpreted as having sex or being sexy, she was just standing there being bankerish. No censorship issues. I did get a certain amount of images of women who were not curvy, and images of women who looked overweight by not curvy. But I also got a certain amount of curvy women in business suits. Didn't take long at all.

And as a result I got banker Kim standing next to naked and gagged and bound Kim, who is also standing.

Finally, for the foreground I reused my Princess Gaia image from the cover of the book.

Love that pissed-off expression.

This time I used more of her body, but still left out the guy who's fucking her doggie style because of course that wouldn't fly for a book cover. I also had to emblonden her hair (just a matter of color cycling her hair and then pasting it in over her brown hair), since this is supposed to be another version of Kim, who is blond. The idea is to represent Kim as Banker Kim, Sexy Kim, and Fucked, Bound and Gagged Kim as she sinks into the pit of depravity that is Club Rape. 

The prison with all the guards is leftover from my Club Rape cover. I made quite a few background images for that one, most of them unusable for that cover, but this one worked out well for this cover. What I liked about it was the cool colors, because it added depth to the image. Gaia/Kim in the foreground is in far warmer colors than the figures of Banker Kim and Naked Kim behind her, who were in much warmer colors than the guards and prison behind them.
