It's also posted in many other places on the Web, but ExquisiteSlave posted the sauce so they get the credit. And speaking of credit, the naked slave is played by Amy, from this photoshoot on OutdoorBondage.com.

This is simply a great image. It's a photoshop manip and based on other images by Hellene Popodopolous, and judging from Hellene's other work on Exquisite Slave, the theme is very much black women dominating white women in slavery-type situations. Which does not interest me, one way of the other.

When I first saw the image, I thought the reason I liked it was that it was just so well done. I thought it was a photo the first time I saw it, it fooled me. It looked like an SLR camera photo with a very narrow depth of field, so that the figures in the foregrouns are sharp and clean and the ones in the background are blurry. In fact the background photo that these images are pasted into was probably taken with an SLR, otherwise the creator had to somehow paste in that sharply focused pile of rocks and wooden stick to match the sharp focus of the figures in the foreground.

But if you take a good look at Nekkid Amy's toes (and I know that some of you will) you'll see that her left foot just isn't right.It shows evidence of being carelessly blurred when everything else in the same focal plane is sharp and clear. 

It did take me a long time to notice that, and I didn't really understand the picture's real impact for a while. The thing about the image is, it's so prosaic. It presents an everyday street scene convincingly. It's not dramatic, it's not a bright sunny day or the dark of night. It's just an rainy, overcast day. Nobody is paying attention to the naked woman on the leash and the black woman looking great in drag who holds her leash. It creates an alternate world where sights like this are normal, everyday, routine.

It's a convincing image from an alternate world where beautiful naked sex slaves are delivered via Federal Express. It implies a world where sex slavery is routine, normal and fun. It's a subversive image that appears to be merely pornographic at first glance.

In a previous post I talked about the way pornographic images on the Web have quietly but very effectively given the lie to mainstream media's claims about what's sexy, shocking, wild and raunchy, simply by presenting uncensored images of actual sex. The images persuade people without the aid of text or even context. Whenever most people see a mainstream image that's supposed to be sexually wild their subconscious minds are aware that's a lie because almost everyone has seen hard core porn, and male people have generally seen a LOT of hardcore porn, though few will admit to it.

Same here, really. Images like the one here demonstrate that a different sort of world is possible.

As do many of my stories. Game knows game!

"Sword and Submission" Cover Art: Attempted Explanation

 Designing the cover art for "Sword and Submission" was much easier than creating the promo video for "Susan: Pet Shop Sex Slave 3." For one thing I didn't have to make a video. So of course I made a video ANYWAY and it turned out to be not nearly as much trouble and it wound up  improving things greatly. But I digress.

I started out with the idea of wanting a picture of Princess Zindra submitting to King Horth's warriors after a bloody battle in her father's throne room. First thing I needed was an image of Princess Zindra looking submissive. For that I went to my Second Life avatars which had all kinds of submissive poses. Turns out I had a  ready-made image. This one:

An image of a frightened naked ballgagged blonde woman in an urban night landscape. All it had going for it was that the woman was beautiful and  she had her hands up in surrender. But that was enough, it turns out.

I then ran the SL avatar through Leonardo AI's Image to Image program, which did me a huge solid.  I got this:

I did not ask Leonardo AI to get rid of the ballgag. Leonardo has a problem with gags. Generally it just renders them very badly. Substituting those beautiful lips for a gag worked fine for me. With AI you take what you can get.

 I now had a beautiful image, but it was unfortunately naked. Naked cover art does not pass muster on Smashwords. So I used my GIMP skills to draw on pasties and filmy tranlucent panties, very simple crude art, and got this:

OK, not perfect but not naked! Still I wanted more, so I ran my revised Leonardo art back through Leonardo again, including running it through the Upscaler program. And I got this: (Yeah, the third finger on the right hand was off, but whatchagonnado?) And why is the image flipped? I honestly don't know. It came in "handy" that it was flipped, but that was much later in the process.

I don't know why Leonardo AI decided that Upscaling art included drawing on a  filmy bra to match the panties, but it worked for me. It drew on nipple bumps as well (Smashwords does not approve of nipple bumps) but it was but the work of a moment to smooth those babies out in GIMP. So I had my sexy slave Zindra image for the cover! Even if the fingers on her right hand were suspicious.

Now that I had sexy mostly naked Zindra  down, I had to do the background. The proved much easier because no naked people, or people having sex was called for. As I've noted before, your average graphic AI will fight you tooth and nail before it will create a naked or nearly naked woman. (They also favor images of unhappy Asians in work uniforms, especially for crowd shots.)

But in this image I didn't get unhappy Asians in work uniforms and since there were no naked women requested, after a few false starts, I had my background scene. To wit:

OK, so it had a couple of flaws. The bodies on the floor are all kind of problematical if you look at them at all closely, so don't do that! 

The body in the foreground was the worst. But being a super genius cover designer, I had an ace in the hole in my sleeve. I realized the best way to place Zindra was to put her behind the looming figure in the foreground and in front of all those bodies. And I knew I could do that easily. I just copied the figure in the foreground and place it in a new layer. And I cropped it in tight and got this, my cover art:

I moved the warrior layer and the Zindra layer to a new location and closed in on the two of them. That got rid of all the bodies in the background and Zindra's butt covered the wonky parts of the body in the foreground and the warrior's body blocks Zindra's wonky hand. Because her image was flipped! Win win win!

The more obeservant among you may note that the image in the cover is not exactly the same as the image above. Very similar but the woman's posture isn't the same as the one in the image above.There's a reason for that, having to do with my further experimentation with motion videos. Which I will save for another post.

When I first started writing “A Love Beyond the Struggle” I thought I was going to write a billionaire rape story for publication on Smashwords. In fact the working title for it was “billionaire rape story.” I was writing to market, hurrah!

Unfortunately, it didn't end up that way. Early on, it got changed, though I wasn't aware of how drastically it was going to change. 

After a bit of thought, I decided on Nero Wolfe as the model for my billionaire. Clearly, he'd make a GREAT billionaire, ruthless variety. But I couldn't do an exact Nero Wolfe map, even if I wanted to. Nero Wolfe had a finely developed moral sense, he was not a kidnapper or anything like it. Archie Goodwin, even more so.

So I came up with a darker Nero Wolfe,  the billionaire Colin Whitworth. He maintains a harem of kidnapped women on his private island to keep him entertained while he makes his billions from green energy.

The idea here is to make Whitworth a force of nature thanks to all his money and power. He's so powerful that his sexual whims, illegal or not, ethical or not, get enacted, and there's no accountability for him at all … his money ensure it.

So his assistant Garth Goodwin (an Archie Goodwin analog, of course) would be a counterpoint to Whitworth who sees his amorality clearly but still enables it. Garth wouldn't be involved in the harem at all, other than helping with acquisitions and disposals. He would be the romantic lead.

And at some point after I came up with that dynamic for the story, I realized that I could write it for Amazon by having all the harem sexual action occur offscreen, in essence. Garth might know all that goes on in the harem, but he wouldn't describe any of it in any detail, not being deeply interested in it. 

Which I realized makes for an EVEN BETTER story, because I can make the story chock full of fantasy fuel for harem bondage sexual fantasies, without having to describe any of them (hence complying with Amazon’s rule against nonconsensual erotica). All the nasty, dirty kinky sex stuff can occur in the reader’s nasty, dirty mind.

Sweet!

And that's when the story because a romance, specifically a dark romance. And of course, a very DIFFERENT kind of dark romance. I think it's an interesting and original story of a sort I've never written before. I've written other works that aren't erotica: “Slave Girls Of Outer Space,” “The Visitor From Incel World” and “The Love Invasion” but they were all basically science fiction adventures. This is a straight-up romance with no explicit sex whatsoever but SOOO much fantasy fuel. (Very Gorean, in fact, though Gor DOES have its sex scenes.) Will it work? Who knows?

Creating the Cover Art for "Tiny, Big" -- Yes, you, too, can create bad cover art!

I'm not an artist and I know it. But I have developed a set of tricks to let me create stuff that kinda looks like art and fulfills Amazon's rules for cover art, and I thought I'd share it with you because it's fun, at least, to me.

(Note: I use GIMP for my covers. It's an open-source program for creating and editing digital images, basically, the equivalent of Photoshop, only free. Like Photoshop, it has a fairly steep learning curve. I can't honestly say how steep, because I've used it for years and I've stepped in all the cow pies. I do remember spending a lot of time grinding my teeth and wondering what the hell I'd done wrong this time when I was first starting out. However, it is possible (as in “almost certain”) that you are better than me at learning new software and will not grind your teeth down to nubbins, which do not work so well for chewing.)

As a marketer of my erotica, I want my cover art to be as raunchy and naked as possible. Amazon, unfortunately, has Standards, and they include No Nudity. Also, strictly for erotica covers, No Butt Crack, No Underboob, No Sideboob, No Happy Trails, And of course, No Nipples and No Genitals. The rules are move relaxed in other categories, probably out of a recognition that if nudity were allowed in erotica, you'd get wall-to-wall nudity on the book covers, whereas with other genres you only occasionally get something like this:

But back to our cover art. Only one of these images was “created” by me, that would be Laura the Tiny. Gina the Big's art I found on Pixabay. I was hoping to find a photo that would work, but came across the Gina image that very nicely matched my idea of what a nine foot tall woman who was very fit might look like. And her costume was very naked, but not entirely naked. Perfect, really, for me.

There were just three things I had to work with to make her work entirely for me. One: that face. It's just wrong. Especially the eyes. Not sure what went wrong, but her eyes are a mess and her jawline is too firm. Her lower face looks like it's just a hairline away from growing a beard. (That's when I realized what the artist's problem was. It wasn't a bad drawing. Red hair, staring eyes, incipient beard: she's French!)

I decided not to do any work there, it would just take too long to fix her face to something more Geena Davis-ish. (Geena Davis is the actress I based the character of Gina on, in terms of voice and mannerisms, plus she's got an athletic build and is tall). Sometimes “Let it be” is your best shot, and the rest of the body is so nice and Big.

Two other problems. I'm sure you spotted one of them: underboob. It was an easy fix. I created a new layer first, because you can adjust transparency on a new layer if you need to, a handy trick as you will soon see. I just borrowed the color from her bra and followed the existing contours of her breast to get the shape. I had initially thought I would have to digitally erase the metal border on the underside of the bra (talk about an underwire!) but when I covered up the border with the red bra color and dialed the transparency on the layer just a little, the the border showed through but was properly colored, looking very much like a seam in the fabric of the bra. Perfect!

If I were a REAL artist I might have created a new metallic border on the underside of the bra, but I'm pretty sure most viewers wouldn't notice and I KNEW that I didn't care. So, no metallic border.

There was one more bit that was needed to comply with Amazon nudity standards, but harder to spot. Amazon wants NO vaginal area on display, and if you'll look carefully at Gina's crotch, there's a bit of flesh between her inner thigh and the edge of the sex cachet she wears. It's not really vaginal area, but I'm not getting my book blocked over some detail on the cover like that. So I went in and added some red to cover that tiny bit of flesh. I doubt anyone would know, because it looks like part of the weird outfit.

All that was left was the background and the hair. I knocked it out using some alpha layer tomfoolery, which meant I didn't have to go in there and cut it out by hand. Only problem was, those wisps of hair that fringe her head didn't knock out perfectly, being wisps. That's OK, I went in there with the digital shears and trimmed them off, making it appear that her hair was styled. Voila! I had my Gina art. Well, French Gina art.

Laura was much tougher, but also more fun. She's based on a Second Life avatar, which meant I went into Second Life, pulled up an avatar, and took photos of her against a black screen to create my art. I also decked her out in a collar and cuffs, but decided to photograph her naked rather than look around for a skimpy bra and panties to put on her. Though I did buy a pair of cheap elf ears for her. Cost me $50 Lindens, which works out to roughly twenty US cents. I'm always willing to spend where it counts!

There are TONS of clothing options for avatars on Second Life, because residents make everything that exists in the game, including the very shape of the land and water itself. Godlike powers, indeed! Most central to the game's economic success is that you can create your own avatar skins, bodies, hair and most of all, clothes, clothes, clothes, clothes, clothes.

Yes, you can be a virtual clothing designer, makeup designer, hair stylist, etc., on Second Life and make money at it, in some cases, serious bank, since Lindens are tradable for US dollars as I pointed out earlier.

… wait … where's everybody gone? Aw, come on, buy my boooooook … Geeze.

Anyway, I could have bought a nice thong and bikini set, but it takes forever to find a skimpy one that really works. They come in two varieties, one that comes as painted-on art and for some reason has terrible jaggies, and one that is beautiful but takes a lot of effort to get it fitting right.

I wanted to get, insofar as possible, a naked look for Laura, and I have finally figured out how to draw lingerie on avatars and make it look right, and make it look naked. I started by taking about 50 photos of Laura naked but for collar, cuffs and shackles, looking for the right pose and the right angle of that pose. Another thing they make in Second Life is animations, and since slavegirls are popular roles in Second Life (because a lot of women enjoy submissive fantasies) there are also a lot of kneeling poses. I wanted one that showed Laura's adoration of Gina, and when I got what I wanted, I did the alpha channel process and got a nice clean cutout, as seen on the left. Notice that in this one, even the wisps of hair came out clean.

The first thing I had to fix was Laura's right breast. It was lumpy and smaller than I wanted. The breasts are built from polyhedrons, and when you enlarge the breasts, the polyhedrons enlarge and become more visible, and I had Laura's breasts pumped up as it was. (There are tools called “sliders” that let you enlarge, shrink and otherwise change body parts at a whim, if you are using the basic Second Life body.)

I wanted Laura to be curvy because she was so small, and if I made her at all slender, she'd look … childlike. And in the erotica genre, that is a third rail: touch it and die. I wanted Laura to be very womanly-looking for that reason, and so I used a circle tool that created a breast-shaped circle to make Laura curvier, and filled it with the appropriate flesh tones just by copying the existing flesh tones over. (Her hips were already nice and round, and it was more subtle work, so I left them as is.)

Before I could go covering up her breasts with clothing, I used the clone tool to place generic flesh tones over the nipples, then used the smear tool to even out the tones so that at the end, her breasts were nipple-free. Yay. I did the same with the bit of genitals and pubic hair that were visible. Very easy work.

Then I created a new layer and used a combination of circle tools and following the existing lines of her body, to create the outline of her top and her panties. I didn't bother making it super-realistic, I just wanted it to look good and emphasize Laura's curviness. That's where the circles came in handy. They make the artwork look polished and smooth, but it's just using the circle tool and making it grow a border, then filling in the border for the appropriate part of the circle in your design. Between the circle tracing and following existing contours, I did very little free-handing, but I'm very pleased about the undies I drew, as they accentuate Laura's curviness further.

Once I had the outlines drawn, I filled them in, with the bra and undies on their own separate layers. I used flat white and it didn't look at all realistic, until I started adjusting the transparency on the layers. Once the overlays were sufficiently transparent, the modeling on the body underneath came through, basically shading the undies for me, and doing it exactly right, without any effort on my part other than adjusting a slider.

When I was through, I had a very nicely modeled, non-naked Laura. After that it was just a bit of touch-up. By far the trickiest part was the eyes, which in the original are looking downward, whereas I wanted Laura looking upward, at Gina. Also, there's a definite goofy look there if you zoom in close. I just copied the corneas, painted over where they'd been with white eyeball color, and flipped them upside down, positioned them as I wanted so that Laura looked up, then drew in some irises to get rid of that dead “doll-eye” look, and added a couple of reflections, just white dots in the irises. I also rounded out Laura's right shoulder, as it was looking a bit lumpy.

 I made the leash the same color as the center of Gina's fist, and made it a simple line running from her hand to the ring on the front of Laura's collar. I kept it as simple as possible, as it wasn't supposed to be a major feature of the artwork, just something to visually symbolize the relationship between Gina and Laura. I used the circle and line tools to make the way the leash hung look natural, once again.

I had found a nice bit of vaguely spooky and magical looking background art and a stone walkway in Second Life, which has sandboxes for that sort of thing, and I pasted Laura and Gina into it. I painted a bit of shadow underneath Laura to anchor her to the background, and that was it. The muted gray color made Gina and Laura really pop from the background, which is what I wanted, two sexy mostly naked women. Hopefully, the cover will help sell the book.

All in all we are talking a good ten, fifteen hours of work for me, if I'd been able to just sit and do it. I spent two and half days at it, two of them weekend days. A real artist could probably have put something better looking together in about an hour. Maybe two at the outside. Hire a pro if you can afford one, but the good ones don't come cheap, and the bad ones, well, some of them make me look good by comparison, and a lot of the bad ones have been known to use copyrighted images for their content. That's a legal spanking!

(Note: “Tiny, Big” is already selling well, and I've just gotten started promoting it. I'm thinking the cover worked.)

Getting Joyful With the Bondage

Having indulged in a little self-promotion by celebrating my millionth visitor, it seems only fitting to promote someone else's blog, and besides, it's a fun blog, "The Joy of Bondage." The blog skillfully conveys the pleasures of bondage. It consists mostly of photos, I suspect taken by blog author Andrew Conway, with some tasty commentary, including some nice bits from the Gor novels (especially nice is one photo, showing a naked slavegirl in a cage reading a copy of Kajira of Gor). The blog has only been up since November 2012, but it's worth checking out, so ... check it out!

Slavegirls From Beyond Infinity On Youtube

Slavegirls From Beyond Infinity is one of the films that best handles the issue of scantily claddiness of slavegirls, with a gorgeous Elizabeth Kaitan and an also very good looking Cindy Beal spending most of the movie in ragged slavegirl bikinis that expose their cleavage and butts pretty much constantly, so ... hoorah! It's one of the few B movies that have been metioned on the floor of Congress, mostly by an aged Jesse Helms who for some reason thought it was hard core porn or something. He was very old at the time.

Well I found it on Youtube, the whole freaking movie, here's the link to it. Watch and enjoy. The nude scenes have been edited out, but there really are not many of them and it should provide little or no issue with watching the film. OK, the rape scene of Brinke Stevens' character will be kinda hard to figure out, but it wasn't all that intelligible in the first place.

Basically it is a fun, cheesy B-movie to have on in the background while you do useful or fun things, or to MST3K. The scantily clad slave beauties just give you plenty of eye candy to enjoy in what is about the billionth remake of The Most Dangerous Game. The movie is thoroughly reviewed in my book, "The Hottitude of Servitude: Slavegirls in the Movies and On TV. Enjoy it before it gets taken down!

Huffington Post Gets All Naked and Tied Up!

So my flying monkeys brought in this article about Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki in the Huffington Post's Arts & Culture section. Apparently, he's a bad boy in Japanese photography circles, doing lots of nudity and bondage. In fact, we've covered him before on Bondagerotica, for doing a nude bondage photoshoot of Lady Gaga for the September 2009 issue of Vogue Hommes Japan.

But the point of this post is not Mr. Araki, it's the Huffington Post. Just a few days ago I noted in an earlier post regarding an article on IO9, Why Do Geeks Like Kink?, that big sites on the Web that copy mainstream media have also copied the uneasy relationship that mainstream media have with sexuality and sexy imagery. That is, they don't show explicit sexual images, or any nudity at all, as a general rule. When they do cover stories involving nudity and sex, they tend to write about it in a coy, adolescent manner that's distinctly off-putting to those who are used to the direct, adult (in the "mature" sense of the word) manner that websites that deal directly with sexual issues use. Like this one! (OK, keeping it real, I am quite capable of being coy and adolescent if I think it will get a laugh. See: cough! But I'm kidding when I do that, the "mainstream" websites are for real about it, sadly so.)

So, it's kind of AMAZING to see a raunchy pic of a Japanese woman stark naked in full suspension with her labia lips sticking out from a nest of pubic hair for all to see, on the Huffington Post.

I can't help but think that the Huffington Post editors may be taking a cue from Fifty Shades of Grey and getting jiggy with the kinky nudity because, hey, people seem to be ready for that sort of thing. Or they may have just now realized that they are publishing on the Web, and the rules are different here.

Will this become a trend at HuffPo? Among "mainstream" sites? Time will tell, I got NO idea on this one!

What Should A Slave Girl Look Like (in a sword and sandal movie)?

On my Bondagerotica site I have a new article "What Should A Slavegirl Look Like (in a Sword and Sandal Film)" aka "The Hottitude of Servitude". Basically, it's a primer for sword and sandal filmmakers on how to use slavegirl imagery to crank up the hottitude in a sword and sandal film to any desired level. So many filmmakers have been abject failures in this respect that I really felt I ought to help them out.

There's also a series of visual analyses of sexy slave girl scenes though some are admittedly not so sexy -- failure can be as instructive as success, and there's a lot more instruction of that sort available anyway.

In addition, there's also a Slavegirl Scene Hottidunal Index that attempts to create a rough guide to how powerfully various slavegirl accoutrements and behaviors, such as bondage gear, skimpy or no clothing, and sexual activity, will affect a scene among a mostly vanilla audience. I know there's a lot of subjectivity in that area, I just tried to create a general framework for judging the hottitude of a given slavegirl scene. All the scenes in my visual analyses are ranked according to the index, with plenty of explanation about why their index ranking is misleading. I figure, better me than someone else.

The article includes caps from Arena, Gor, Star Trek, Flash Gordon, HBO's series "Rome," Warrior Queen, Arabian Nights, Hercules and the Captive Women, Deathstalker, Barbarian Queen, Quest of the Delta Nights, the Age of Conan video game, Mei King, Invincible Barbarian, Star Wars, Alien Sex Files 3, Cleopatra 2525, Alien Apocalypse, Son of Sinbad and ... other stuff.

Announcing Our New Sword And Sandal Section On Bondagerotica

Now, that's a well-designed gag. In the sense it has actually been DESIGNED, not some scrap picked up from the prop room floor.
This week over at Bondagerotica, we have a new section on sword and sandal movies. Seems everyone and his cousin is making one right now ... I'll have a list up soon ... and so I have prepared much-needed advice on how to handle slavegirl imagery properly. Hollywood will be SOOOOO grateful. They'll probably make up an Oscar, just for me. Because they just don't get enough free advice on how to do things.

Up and coming star Carrie Genzel stars in Caged Hearts, a topnotch women in prison movie that includes a nude catfight/lesbian rape scene for Ms. Genzel. Genzel can currently be seen in the Flash Gordon SciFi Channel series, and in Under One Roof and she plays Jackie Kennedy in the upcoming Watchmen movie.

An Unguarded Moment

To be honest, I could see myself sitting around naked like that if I was distracted by adjusting some doohickey or other. But I'm a guy. Guys are not trained to be self-conscious about our bodies/appearances all the time, as women are. Before a woman could sit around that unself-consciously in the nude and wearing bondage gear, she would have to have a lot of training/experience to overcome the normal conditioning that women experience.

This is not just a woman, she's a slavegirl. She's accustomed to sitting around naked and in bondage gear among others.

The Angel Blade Hentai Series

It's hentai time, where the kickass fighting babes get captured and molested a LOT before they finally win the day.

This week I'm taking a break from Women in Prison films and reviewing the hentai Angel Blade. I've picked Angel Blade because it is the perfect thing to watch in the background on television while doing other things. This is not an insult -- it's very hard to find programming that works as such. It has to have enough good stuff that you've got an excellent chance of being rewarding when you pause to check it out, it has to be pointless enough that you don't have to know the plot to enjoy what you're seeing, and it has to avoid distracting you from whatever you are doing like, say, hardcore porn would. That's the train of thought that led me to write my essay on Why Isn't There A Naked Woman Dancing Channel?

In the Angel Blade hentai series, I've found something that fills that bill. I figure that it will increase productivity for people who work at home by a good 5 percent. I await the thanks of a grateful nation.
